45. Gather Them Into the Fold

1 There are many today who are wand’ring away,
Far away in the darkness and cold;
Haste to gather them in, from the pathways of sin,
To the shelter and peace of the fold.

Refrain:
Gather them in!
Out from the darkness and cold!
O count not the cost—seek for the lost,
But gather them into the fold!

2 O how sweet the reward—O how precious the word,
When safe Home in that city of gold,
Should some one to thee say—“Far I wandered away,
But you brought me back into the fold.” [Refrain]

3 Soon the morning is gone—soon the night cometh on,
Soon the story of Life shall be told;
Then O hasten today—souls are wand’ring away,
Haste to gather them into the fold! [Refrain]
