212. The Story of Love

1 O, I know of a dear, loving Saviour
Who died on the cross long ago,
A ransom for poor, guilty sinners—
His love and compassion to show.

Refrain:
O wonderful, wonderful story of love,
That Jesus should suffer for me!
Should come from His home in glory—
My Guide and companion to be.

2 I was weary and tired when He found me,
And carried me back to the fold;
But now I rejoice in His mercy,
And praise Him for blessings untold. [Refrain]

3 My soul was so dark and so lonely
Till He, my Redeemer came in,
But now I am filled with His glory
And saved from the bondage of sin. [Refrain]

4 I can never forget what I owe Him—
My Saviour and Lord crucified,
But my life shall be spent in His service
Until I shall rest at His side. [Refrain]

5 And at last when my waiting is over,
And He in the clouds shall descend
I shall go to continue up yonder
The service that never shall end. [Refrain]
