388. God Is Our Strong Salvation

1 God is our strong salvation;
What foe have we to fear?
In darkness and temptation
Our light, our help, is near.
Though hosts encamp around us,
Firm to the fight we stand;
What terror can confound us,
With God at our right hand?

2 Place on the Lord reliance;
Have faith, with courage wait;
His truth be your affiance,
When faint and desolate.
His might your heart shall strengthen,
His love your joy increase;
Your days shall mercy lengthen;
The Lord will give you peace.

Amen.
