1 Abide with us, Lord Jesus; Thy grace on us bestow; And guard that ne’er can harm us, The evil, crafty foe. 2 Abide with us, dear Saviour! For Thee our hearts prepare, That henceforth and forever Salvation we may share. 3 Abide with Thy true brightness, Thou precious light divine! And gird us with uprightness, To truth our hearts incline! 4 Abide with heav’nly blessings, O richest Lord of peace! May grace, each heart possessing, Abundantly increase! 5 Thy wings for our protection Be o’er us, Lord, unfurled! O, guard us from deception Of Satan and the world! 6 Abide with Thy devotion; Thy children ever bless! Grant Thy heroic courage, Help us through all distress!
