59. Christian’s life in God is hidden

1 Christian’s life in God is hidden, But soon the morning shall be bidden; The dark of night shall pass away. Oh, when He appears in gladness, Our tears shall cease and all our sadness Will change to joy on judgment day. Then will be manifest What our good deeds attest. Hallelujah! The Lord will come; the Lord will come; With Him will come our faith’s reward. 2 We who here in weakness labor The Lord will raise to bliss and favor, If but our faith and love are true. Enemies will fear and tremble, While we, His friends, in joy assemble With Him, whose love is ever new. Thy children we are here, Beloved of Thee so dear, Blessed Jesus. Thy joy to share, we will prepare Through earthly cross, reproach and shame. 3 Thou hast walked the path before us; We follow Thee, till Thou restore us Joined through our love and faith to Thee. When Thy kingdom is established, Its foes confounded and abolished, Its heirs forever we shall be. How fortunate are we, That such our lot shall be! Amen! Amen! Though death us part, we go to God, United in eternity.
