60. Praise to Jesus, who has risen

1 Praise to Jesus who has risen!
Delivered from death’s bond and prison,
Appears triumphant God’s own Son
Thru the heavens’ spacious arches
Resound the joyful songs of gladness,
And peace doth glow around God’s throne.
Praise Him who ever lives,
Who life and comfort gives,
Christ the Saviour, And to our God!
Death’s dark abode is banished by His conq’ring rod.

2 Thou to whom all is subjected,
Art now our Priest and King elected
Such power God with Thee has shared!
Joyful is Thy lot and glorious;
And we Thy host at last victorious,
Shall equal glories find prepared.
Upon Thy altar, Lord,
Thy blood for all was poured
For remission; in pureness we
Forever free. Thy holy priesthood now shall be.

3 On that resurrection morning,
Now free from sorrow, grief and mourning
Thy throng shall see Thy heav’nly light.
There we’ll see in bliss eternal,
Thee, Jesus, Sun of grace supernal,
Behold Thy face. O sacred sight!
For that new Fatherland
Our bodies by Thy hand
Shall be transformed; Then we’ll be free.
Redeemed by Thee in whom all things renewed shall be.

4 O Thou resurrected Saviour!
Look down upon Thy friends with favor
Who dwell yet in this earthly vale!
Come, Belov’d, that we may meet Thee,
And when in joy and love we greet Thee,
Thy glory unto us reveal!
O blessed shall all be
Who are by faith in Thee
Resurrected. All who from death
To life are brought, sustain their faith, O Son of God!
