Jay Althouse has taken one of our best-loved hymns and created a truly moving arrangement for today's choirs. The folk-like melody is introduced first in a simple manner for unison voices or optional solo. Slowly it develops in complexity, with an always flowing, supportive keyboard accompaniment, until it arrives at the powerful final verse, ending with a return to the gentle statement of the opening melody line.
