The prophet Isaiahs message begins as a condemnation of his people, but soon moves to words of comfort and assurance. You Shall Go Out With Joy draws its text from part of this so-called Book of Comfort (Isaiah 55) and tells of the free invitation for all who thirst to come and restore their souls through the mercy of God. With great economy of the vocal parts, this piece moves from the humble invitation to a triumphant close.
