John Pitney

Reverend John Pitney and his wife Debbie were assigned to the Community United Methodist Church in Nome, Alaska in 1981. About half of the congregation were native Inupiat. They decided to learn as much of the language as they could. John learned enough to translate several hymns into the Inupiac language.
