We give God thanks for those who knew

Author: Michael Perry (born 1942) Appears in 6 hymnals Topics: God's World Health and Healing Lyrics: 1 We give God thanks for those who knew the touch of Jesus' healing love; they trusted him to make them whole, to give them peace, their guilt remove. 2 We offer prayer for all who go relying on his grace and power, to help the anxious and the ill, to heal their wounds, their lives restore. 3 We dedicate our skills and time to those who suffer where we live, to bring such comfort as we can to meet their need, their pain relieve. 4 So Jesus' touch of healing grace lives on within our willing care; by thought and prayer and gifts we prove his mercy still, his love we share. O God, to You I Cry in Pain

Author: Shirley Erena Murray Meter: 8.6.8.6 Appears in 2 hymnals Topics: Mental Health Lyrics: 1 O God, to you I cry in pain when sickness makes me weak, when mind and body out of tune bring fears I cannot speak. 2 Give me the strength to face my ill, to trust in skill and care, to bless the hands that help me heal, and find your Spirit there. 3 Remind me I am not alone, when suffering makes its mark; be present at my pillow’s side, and help me through the dark. 4 Within the comfort and the love that human touch can give, restore in me a larger sense of what it is to live. 5 Allow my mind to rest in you, and let your peace pervade to hold me in your greater power, and not to be afraid. Scripture: Psalm 4:1-3 Used With Tune: AFFLICTION
