came to the place where Jesus ate,
brought a box of precious ointment;
with her tears the woman washed his feet,
weeping as the Savior ate.
2 Behold, the woman kissed and washed him,
drying him with her lovely hair,
shocking those who sat with Jesus,
even though they saw the woman's tears:
"Does not Jesus know of her?"
3 Then he rebuked the pious Simon,
"Tell me, my friend, who would love more -
one who had been much forgiven
or the one whose sins were small and few?
Who would weep the bitterest tear?
4 "Behold, the woman is repentant.
See how she gives her finest oil,
for she has been much forgiven."
Then he said unto the woman,
