Since God is in the midst of her, unmoved her walls shall stand; for God will hasten to her aid when trouble is at hand. 3 The nations rage, the kingdoms move, but when his voice was heard, earth melts with trembling fear before the thunder of his word. The LORD of hosts is on our side, our safety to secure; the God of Jacob is for us a refuge strong and sure. 4 O come and see what wondrous works the hand of God has done; come, see what desolation great he brings beneath the sun. In every corner of the earth he causes wars to cease; the weapons of the strong destroyed, he makes abiding peace. 5 "Be still and know that I am God, the LORD whom all must claim; and every nation of the earth shall magnify my name." The LORD of hosts is on our side, our safety to secure; the God of Jacob is for us a refuge strong and sure. Scripture: Psalm 46 Used With Tune: NOEL (GERARD) Text Sources: Scottish Psalter 1650

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be moved, and though the mountains be toppled into the depths of the sea; 2 Though its waters rage and foam, and though the mountains tremble at its tumult. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. 3 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be overthrown; God shall help her at the break of day. 4 The nations make much ado, and the kingdoms are shaken; God has spoken, and the earth shall melt away. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. 5 Come now and look upon the works of the LORD, what awesome things he has done on earth. It is he who makes war to cease in all the world; he breaks the bow, and shatters the spear, and burns the shields with fire. 6 "Be still, then, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth." The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. Scripture: Psalm 46 Used With Tune: [God is our refuge and strength] Text Sources: The Book of Common Prayer

Tomorrow Christ is coming

Author: Fred Kaan Meter: 7.6.7.6 D Appears in 7 hymnals Topics: Advent 4 Year A Lyrics: 1 Tomorrow Christ is coming as yesterday he came; a child is born this moment, we do not know its name. The world is full of darkness, again there is no room; the symbols of existence are stable, cross and tomb. 2 Tomorrow will be Christmas, the feast of love divine, but for the nameless millions the star will never shine. Still is the census taken with people on the move; new infants born in stables are crying out for love. 3 There will be no tomorrows for many a baby born; Good Friday falls on Christmas when life is sown as corn. But Jesus Christ is risen and comes again in bread to still our deepest hunger and raise us from the dead. 4 Our God becomes incarnate in every human birth. Created in God's image, we must make peace on earth. God will fulfil Love's purpose and this shall be the sign: e shall find Christ among us as woman, child, or man. Used With Tune: LITTLE BADDOW
