With God and His Mercy

Author: C. O. Rosenius Meter: 11.11.11.6.6.11 Appears in 12 hymnals Topics: Care and Guidance First Line: With God and His mercy, His Spirit and Word Lyrics: 1 With God and His mercy, His Spirit and Word, And loving communion at altar and board, We meet with assurance the dawn of each day: The Shepherd is with us, The Shepherd is with us, To lead and protect us and teach us the way. 2 The sign of the cross I triumphantly bear, Tho' none of my kindred that emblem may wear, I joyfully follow the champions of right, Who march on to glory, Who march on to glory, Who march on to glory, with weapons of might. 3 The Pillar that guides us thro' peril and strife, The Rock that is cleft, giving waters of life, Is Christ and His cross. By His Spirit and Word, The heart He refreshes, The heart He refreshes, The heart He refreshes, our Saviour and Lord. 4 O Shepherd, abide with us; care for us still, And feed us and lead us and teach us Thy will; And when in Thy heavenly fold we shall be, Our thanks and our praises, Our thanks and our praises, Our thanks and our praises we'll render to Thee. Used With Tune: ACK, SALIGA STUNDER

Still will we make Thy mercies known Around Thy board, and round our own. 4 O may our more harmonious tongue In worlds unknown pursue the song. O God of Love, Grant Us Your Peace

Author: John A. Dalles, 1954- Meter: 8.6.8.6 D Appears in 3 hymnals Topics: Care Lyrics: 1 O God of love, grant us your peace within each restless mind. May all our inner turmoil cease, God, show us how to find your quiet rest, your still small voice, your light upon life’s way, to walk with you our humble choice, God, give us grace to pray. 2 O God of life, grant us your peace, both where we work and live. Our ties of fellowship increase, God, teach us how to give a helping hand, a list'ning ear, a message we may share. So day by day and year by year, God give us grace to care! 3 O God of hope, grant us your peace, though all the earth choose war. May global tensions now decrease, God, lead us to adore the way of Christ, and, like our Lord, be merciful and just. Surrounded by your Living Word, God, give us grace to trust! 4 O God of all, grant us your peace, we share one human bond. And so when others seek release, God, help us to respond: to heal the sick, to seek the lost, to set the captive free, to serve and never count the cost: may we live peacefully! Scripture: Ephesians 2:14-22 Used With Tune: A PURPLE ROBE
