Fellow Christians, Let Us Gather

Author: C. K. Solberg Meter: 8.7.8.7 D Appears in 1 hymnal Topics: Processionals and Recessionals Missions Lyrics: 1 Fellow Christians, let us gather Round the banner of the cross. We must win the unchurched millions, Lest they suffer endless loss. Multitudes are daily drifting Into ways of sin and shame; Christ Himself calls ev'ry Christian Straying sinners to reclaim. 2 We must hear and heed the challenge And the urgent call obey, Coming from our teeming cities, To regain without delay Wayward brethren, errant sisters, Groping in the night of sin; Jesus bids us go and seek them And compel them to come in. 3 As we view the unsaved masses, Who like sheep have gone astray, We must meet them with compassion Lest they perish by the way. In the heart of crowded cities Where the pow'rs of evil reign, We must carry on our mission Unsaved sinners to regain. 4 Let us not, like priest and Levite, Coldly pass the wretched by; What we preach, that let us practice, Lest our lives our lips deny; Let us be our brother's keeper, Prove our faith by works of love; Saved to serve, be this our watchword, Till we join the hosts above. 5 We beseech Thee, blessed Savior, Ev'ry Christian's heart control With an ever present passion For the unconverted soul. O baptize with Thy good Spirit Ev'ry member of Thy fold! Bless the labors of Thy servants As on Pentecost of old! Amen. Used With Tune: BEECHER

In The Holy Father's Keeping

Author: Samuel Martin Miller Meter: 8.7.8.7 D Appears in 4 hymnals Topics: Processionals and Recessionals Morning Lyrics: 1 In the holy Father's keeping, Sheltered in His strong embrace, Day by day my soul is resting In that precious blood-bought place. Here no evil e'er can harm me, Here I'm free from sin and pain; In the holy Father's keeping Only peace and love can reign. 2 In the holy Father's keeping There is joy, complete, fulfilled: Joy which Jesus died to give me; Yea, His precious blood has spilled That I might be kept securely Thro' the Father's precious name, Kept for glories grand, celestial, Far above all earthly fame. 3 In the holy Father's keeping, Jesus, I will pray Thy prayer. Holy Father, wilt Thou take me, Wilt Thou guard, protect me there? By the prayer that Jesus offered, By His cross, His blood, His love, Holy Father, in Thy keeping Take me to Thy realms above. Amen. O Blessed Light From Heaven

Author: C. K. Solberg Meter: 7.6.7.6 D Appears in 1 hymnal Topics: Processionals and Recessionals General Lyrics: 1 O Blessed Light from heaven, Shine forth into my soul! Dispel the innate darkness That would my heart control! Without Thee I am groping And should forever stray, For Thou alone canst save me And safely lead the way. 2 Without Thee, precious Savior, There is eternal night, I cannot live without Thee, Make me a child of light; Let nothing come between us, But keep me ever Thine; Upon my lifelong journey Shine in this heart of mine! 3 And may Thy light within me Again reflected be, That I may shine for others And lead some soul to Thee. So many are benighted In ignorance and sin, Who daily are refusing To let Thy sunshine in. 4 Lord, keep me ever faithful To let my light so shine That I may be a blessing, And all the glory Thine! And when my days are numbered, Then sainted by Thy grace, Forever in Thy glory May I behold Thy face. Amen. Used With Tune: TOURS

Most Fervent Thanks I Render

Author: H. Brueckner Meter: 7.6.7.6 D Appears in 1 hymnal Topics: Processionals and Recessionals Morning Lyrics: 1 Most fervent thanks I render To Thee, my God and Lord, Who in Thy loving-kindness Dost gracious help afford: When night had spread her pinions Far over land and sea, I was secure from danger; Thy mercy shielded me. 2 All praise to Thee, O Father, Who in the gloom of night Dost grant me Thy protection And fill my soul with light. Pray help me do Thy bidding Thro'out this new-born day; Make Thou my will submissive And keep me in Thy way. 3 Vouchsafe to me Thy guidance Lest I should go astray; Let not the foe beguile me, Be Thou my staff and stay. Sustain me by Thy goodness, Thy mercy let me share; For Satan cannot harm me While I enjoy Thy care. 4 To Thine own praise and glory, Let me conclude this day; May I to Thee be faithful; O Lord, for this I pray. Shield both my soul and body, My house and native land; For all Thy love has given Is safe when in Thy hand. 5 To Thee be laud and honor, Thy name be blest for aye, Extend, O Lord, Thy kingdom Let grace and peace hold sway. Jesus Christ As King Is Reigning

Author: H. Brueckner; Phil. Fr. Hiller Meter: 8.8.7.8.8.7 Appears in 2 hymnals Topics: Processionals and Recessionals General Lyrics: 1 Jesus Christ as King is reigning, God His mighty rule ordaining: All things at His feet shall lie. Let each tongue as Lord confess Him And in homage praise and bless Him; For His throne is built on high. 2 With the Father honors sharing, Cherubim His fame declaring, He is seated on His throne, Ruling over earth and heaven; For to Him are all things given By the Father as His own. 3 Christians here on earth, adore Him; Saints in heaven, come before Him, Shout, ye hosts that carry palms; Ye who glist'ning crowns are wearing, Ye who harps of gold are bearing, Praise ye Him with tuneful psalms. 4 And I, too, a sinner lowly, Will exalt the Lord most holy, Saying, as I prostrate lie: Jesus Christ as King is reigning, God His mighty rule ordaining: Glory to the Lord on high. How Blessed Is The Little Flock

Author: C. Doving; N. J. Holm Meter: 8.6.8.6.8.8.8.6 Appears in 15 hymnals Topics: Processionals and Recessionals General Lyrics: 1 How blessed is the little flock, Whom Jesus calls His own! He is their Savior and their rock, They trust in Him alone; They walk by faith and hope and love, But they shall dwell with Him above, When hope and faith shall pass away, And love shall last for aye. 2 My Jesus, am I in that band, And wilt Thou call me Thine? Do I among the chosen stand Whose lamps so brightly shine? O let me not lie down to rest Till this I know, my Savior blest, Till I can say, by grace restored: Thou know'st I love Thee, Lord! 3 And even if with tears it be, That this to Thee I say, Yet Thou in grace wilt look on me And wipe my tears away; Yea, when but Thou who all dost know, In me canst find Thy love below And own me Thine, then well is me,-- My all I have in Thee. Beautiful Upon The Mountain

Author: H. Brueckner Meter: 8.7.8.7 D Appears in 2 hymnals Topics: Processionals and Recessionals The Ministry Lyrics: 1 Beautiful upon the mountain Are the feet of shepherds true, Who from out the living Fountain Grace dispense each day anew. Precious is the peace they offer In the Savior's own dear name, Who, for us His life to proffer, From His throne in heav'n He came. 2 Earthly chains must not enslave him Who would serve our gracious Lord; In the strength the Master gave him He must preach His holy Word, Gladly bearing pain and sorrow, Self-forgetful evermore. Hoping that a brighter morrow God has kept for him in store. 3 Let him speak to ev'ry nation Of the Savior's boundless love; Let him tell of God's salvation, Of the blissful home above. Let him comfort hearts that languish In the throes of sin and pain, That, relieved from all their anguish, Peace and rest they may obtain. 4 Be it told to sinners stricken With the fear of death and hell: Christ your fainting hearts will quicken And all mortal fears dispel. Be it told to those in prison, Chained by tho'ts of doubt and care: Christ, Who died, again is risen And with you His home will share. Used With Tune: ST. Hark! The King Of Heaven Is Calling

Author: J. H. Kuhlman Meter: 8.7.8.7 D Appears in 1 hymnal Topics: Processionals and Recessionals General First Line: Hark! the King of heav'n is calling Lyrics: 1 Hark! the King of heav'n is calling Laborers to do His work; Go, saith He, into My vineyard, Go at once, and do not shirk! In the morning hours He seeks you, When the dew is on the grass; Serve Him then with young endeavor, Ere the flush of youth shall pass. 2 Thro' the forenoon of their lifetime, Ev'ry day and ev'ry year, In His Church the Lord is calling, Calling those that will not hear. Noon and afternoon are passing, And the shadows grow apace, While so many still are standing Idle in the market place. 3 Swift the twilight is advancing, Bringing the eleventh hour; One more call, O men and women, Serve Him with your waning pow'r! Then at last the quiet evening And the sunset in the West, When the Master of the vineyard Calls the workers home to rest. Used With Tune: DEARHURST

All Glory Be To God Alone

Author: Paul E. Kretzmann Appears in 1 hymnal Topics: Processionals and Recessionals General Lyrics: 1 All glory be to God alone, All nations bow before His throne. May His dread wrath be ended now: May He with love all men endow. Let all the joyful message hear And thank the Lord in holy fear. 2 Great God of heav'n, Thy might we sing, To Thee our fervent thanks we bring; We kneel before Thy throne of grace And burn the incense of our praise; Thro' endless ages we proclaim The glory of Thy holy Name. 3 Lord God, eternal King above, Almighty Father, Truth, and Love; O Christ, the Father's only Son, Before creation was begun; Thou Lamb of God, to Thee we cry, Thou everlasting God on high. 4 Do Thou, O bearer of our sin, In us Thy work of grace begin; For all our sins Thou didst atone, And we are saved by grace alone; Thou sittest at Thy Father's hand; O bring us to that heav'nly land. A-Men. 5 To Thee we cry with one accord, Thou everlasting God and Lord; Thou art of heaven and earth the King; To Thee, our Savior, praise we sing With all the choir of heaven's host, O Father, Son and Holy Ghost. 6 Amen! This is most surely true, And angel hymns, forever new, Are sung in endless, joyful praise As we upon Thy glory gaze; World without end the Church will sing The glory of her heavenly King.
