Place a Lamp in the Window

Author: Mary J. Cappel Hymnal: The Bright Array #172 (1889) Lyrics: 1 Place a lamp in the window, Pray’rfully, constantly lighted; Love and pity united Ask it a duty from thee. Place a lamp in the window; Some poor boy may discover, Far away from his mother, Light that a safeguard will be. Refrain: Place a lamp in the window, Brightly, constantly burning; Oh, how many, beholding, Guided to Jesus may be. 2 Oh, how many that wander Down where the tempter is leading, Through thy lamp in the window, Rescued from ruin may be. Send its rays to the weary, Hungry, friendless and dreary; Oh, what joy it will give them, Light from thy window to see. [Refrain] 3 Place a lamp in thy window; Think of the good thou art doing; Love’s kind labor pursuing, Bringeth reward unto thee. Keep a lamp in the window, Till thy mission is ended; Then forever with Jesus, Crowned with His love thou shalt be. [Refrain] Scripture: Exodus 25:37 Tune Title: [Place a lamp in the window]

Place Me On The Heavenly Side

Author: Sallie M. Rather Hymnal: The Cyber Hymnal #10734 First Line: If you in Heav’n would stay, throughout eternal day Refrain First Line: I’ll trust Him whatsoe’er betide Lyrics: 1 If you in Heav’n would stay, throughout eternal day, Self and sin must be denied; To Jesus we must plead, He’ll make us free indeed, And place us on the heav’nly side. Refrain: I’ll trust Him whatsoe’er betide, I’ll trust Him, He has ne’er denied; To Jesus I will plead, He’ll meet my every need, And keep me on the heav’nly side. 2 O! sinner, come just now, and unto Jesus bow, Give up all your sin and pride; For Jesus is the way, just look to Him and say, Lord place me on the heav’nly side. [Refrain] 3 And when my days are done, and I my race have run, I must cross the chilly tide. But Jesus will be there, I have no need to fear, He’ll land me on the heav’nly side. [Refrain] Languages: English Tune Title: [If you in Heav'n would stay, throughout eternal day]
