Person Name: Unknown Author of "Great is the Lord" in Songs of Fellowship In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries.

Died: October 21, 1662, London, England.
Buried: In the cloisters of Westminster Abbey, London, England.
Lawes, tutor to the daughters of the Earl of Bridgewater, is best known as a composer. He became a Gentleman of the Chapel Royal in 1626, and a member of the "King’s Musick" in 1631. He wrote over 400 vocal pieces, as well as anthems and instrumental compositions. His works include:
