Representative Text

1 In the crimson blush of morning, in the blooming lily's grace,
In the sunset's dying splendors, in the baby's laughing face,
In the glory of the heavens when the stars come out in place,
I would see God in ev'rything!

Chorus:
O Searcher of the hearts of men,
Search mine for me and make it clean,
That I may have a vision keen
To see Thee, Lord, in ev'rything
To see all things, Dear Lord, in Thee.

2 I would see Him in the broken plans which I had cherished so,
In the anguish of bereavement which my heart must undergo,
In the discipline of pain that lays my chastened spirit low,
I would see God in ev'rything! [Chorus]

3 Most of all, may I behold Him in the beauty of His word,
in the love which brought salvation thro' His Son, my stricken Lord,
In my own poor soul forgiven by His wondrous grace restored,
I would see God in ev'rything! [Chorus]
