I find each day new victory

Representative Text

1. I find each day new victory,
When Jesus has control,
And blessings that are sent to me,
When Jesus has control.

Refrain:
When Jesus has control,
When Jesus has control;
He leads the way from day to day,
When Jesus has control.

2. I find new joys unknown before,
When Jesus has control,
And peace abiding more and more,
When Jesus has control.

3. I find new strength to conquer wrong,
When Jesus has control,
And blessings with the victor’s song,
When Jesus has control.

4. I find new light upon my way,
When Jesus has control,
To light and guide me day by day,
When Jesus has control.

5. I look beyond life’s unknown sea,
When Jesus has control,
And see the Homeland waiting me,
When Jesus has control.

Author: William C. Poole

William C. Poole was born and raised on a farm in Maryland. His parents belonged to the Methodist church. He graduated from Washington College and became a Methodist minister in Wilmington, Delaware area. He was pastor of McCabe Memorial, Richardson Park and other churches. In 1913 he was superintendent of the Anti-Saloon League of Delaware. He wrote about five hundred hymns. The writing was done as recreation and a diversion from his pastoral work. His goal in writing as well as in being a minister was to help people.
