George Osgood

b. 1817 Author of "Adown the mountain's glowing side" in The Praise Hymnary Osgood, George. (Kensington, New Hampshire, October 8, 1817--?). Graduated from Harvard Divinity School in 1847. Minister at Tyngsborough, Massachusetts, in 1855. Editor of the "Exeter, N.H., Newsletter." Contributed poetry to newspapers and the Salem Register. --Putnam, Alfred P. (1875). 1811 - 1884 Composer of "KINGSLEY (Kingsley 33451)" Born: July 7, 1811, Northampton, Massachusetts. Died: March 14, 1884, Northampton, Massachusetts. Kingsley played the organ at the Old South Church and Hollis Street Church in Boston, Massachusetts.
