The Sunshine Song

Representative Text

1 What we need is sunshine, sunshine ev’ry day,
Tho’ the clouds may hover, all along the way;
Still the sun is shining, just beyond your view,
Look above the shadows, where the sky is blue.

Refrain:
Sunshine, sunshine, all the way,
Sunshine, sunshine, ev’ry day;
In this world of sadness,
There is joy and gladness,
If we scatter sunshine on the way.

2 You may scatter sunshine, tho’ your heart is sad,
While you’re helping others, you will be made glad;
For the “cup of water” given in His name,
Joy to you will bring, like sunshine after rain. [Refrain]

3 Live above the shadows, lest they mar your life,
Live above the world, with all its sin and strife;
Sow the seeds of kindness, banish petty care,
Scatter then His blessed sunshine ev’rywhere. [Refrain]
