89. Joy Cometh in the Morning

1 Blessed words of comfort in a time of grief,
“Joy will surely come when morning breaks,”
Strength and faith they carry, and a sweet relief,
Courage till the day awakes.

Refrain:
For clouds will lighten, the morning brighten,
And griefs but highten the bliss in store,
Like sunrise burning, like day returning,
To bring the joy that lives forevermore.

2 Dark may be the road on which our feet must tread,
Closed and sealed the door at which we wait,
Yet the light is ever shining overhead,
Angel hands unlock the gate. [Refrain]

3 From the blessed promise and its glory bright,
Ev’ry burdened heart new comfort takes,
Sorrow may endure throughout the weary night,
Joy will come when morning breaks. [Refrain]
