126. I Come, Dear Lord, to Thee

1 I know not where to go, O Lord,
When sorrow’s clouds encompass me,
But to the promise of Thy word,
And so I come, dear Lord, to Thee.

Chorus:
In Thy inspiring promise giv’n,
That soon shall dawn a brighter day,
Then comes the blessed hope of heav’n,
To cheer me on my upward way.

2 Deserted oft and lonely here,
The heart with pain will overflow,
But I can cast a way all fear,
And trustingly to Jesus go. [Chorus]

3 So I will never murmur more,
But on the Lord in faith rely,
Until I cross the Jordan o’er,
And to Thy blessed mansions fly. [Chorus]
