78. Rainbow Glasses

1 There’s good in ev’ry creature, if only you can find it;
The bad is just a little blot, you really needn’t mind it;
Just try to see the beauty and nothing else beside,
For hood intentions will a multitude of failures hide.

Refrain:
Put on your rainbow glasses and look this old world o’er,
You’ll find a lot of goodness you’ve never seen before!
Some heart will beat the lighter,
For skies are always brighter
When seen thro’ rainbow glasses.

2 There’s sympathy and kindness, if you but look around you;
The sternest mask may hide a heart whose goodness would astound you;
A word of understanding will melt the ice away;
A friendly nod at morn, will help to make a happy day. [Refrain]

3 The longing to do better, if only we could know it,
Lies buried deep in many a heart too proud and shy to show it;
The one who seeks these treasures, finds pearls of price untold,
And he is blest who helps a friend his better self unfold. [Refrain]
