Call Him By His Name of Jesus

Representative Text

1 Call Him by His name of Jesus,
Name all other names above!
From all guilt He hath redeemed us,
Lord of life and King of love.

Refrain:
Call Him by His name of Jesus,
Sweetest name in heav’n or earth;
Blessed, hallowed name of Jesus,
Who can fully speak its worth.

2 For the wounded broken spirit,
This the healing balm we need;
We will bring no other merit,
Jesus is the name we plead. [Refrain]

3 Tell the blessed name of Jesus,
Unto those who need its cheer,
It will comfort those in sorrow
And will drive away all fear. [Refrain]

4 Softly breathe the name of Jesus,
When the eve of life shall come;
His the first glad voice to greet us
And to speak a “welcome home.” [Refrain]

5 Glory to the Lord who sought us,
Prince amid the white-robed throng!
“Praise to Him who loved and bought us,”
Burden of our gladsome song. [Refrain]
