Alice P. Kenney

Author of "Creator God, Whose Glory Is Creation" in Ten New Hymns for the 70's Dr. Alice P. Kenney is chairman of the Department of Interstudies at Cedar Crest College, Allentown, Penna. She is a graduate of Middlebury College, with M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Columbia. She is a member of Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in Albany, N.Y. Her principal extracurricular activity is the Bach Choir of Bethlehem, Penna. She has sung in the Columbia University Chapel Choir and in several church choirs; and has won recognition for several years in the hymn division of the U.C.C. Stewardship Competition. She is the author of The Gansevoorts of Albany (Syracuse University Press), and of numerous articles on history, education, and English and American literature. An article on "Private Worlds in the Middle Colonies: An Introduction to Human Tradition in American History" in New York History, January 1970, includes discussion of the significance of hymns for historical study. --Ten New Hymns for the 70's, 1970.
