1731 - 1814 Author of "Election in Christ" William Tucker was born at Chard, Somerset, March 27th, 1731. His parents were members of the Church of England. After hearing George Whitefield in London, he grey daily more and more acquainted with the plague of his heart, the spirituality of God's law, and the unsearchable riches of his grace. He worked in Chard as a cutler and iron monger and joined the Baptist church. He wrote a variety of pieces including "Predestination Calmly Considered," "Arminianism Dissected" and articles against Pre-Existerianism. as well as hymns.
