Burns, Jabez, D.D., the well known Baptist Minister, was born at Oldham, Lancashire, Dec. 18, 1805, and was one of the first Ministers of Religion in London who vigorously advocated Total Abstinence. He edited several Temperance publications, and employed a versatile and forcible pen in the cause of Temperance, both in prose and verse. He d.
