1851 - 1920 Author of "Jesus Is Ready, Are You?" in Consecrated Hymns Pseudonym: Li­die H. Ed­munds. Eliza Edmunds Hewitt was born in Philadelphia 28 June 1851. She was educated in the public schools and after graduation from high school became a teacher. However, she developed a spinal malady which cut short her career and made her a shut-in for many years. During her convalescence, she studied English literature. She felt a need to be useful to her church and began writing poems for the primary department. she went on to teach Sunday school, take an active part in the Philadelphia Elementary Union and become Superintendent of the primary department of Calvin Presbyterian Church. Benjamin Franklin Butts

1866 - 1935 Composer of "[Jesus is ready, is ready to save]" in Consecrated Hymns Born: September 7, 1867, Ohio. Died: May 25, 1935, Las Cruces, New Mexico. Buried: Home of Peace Cemetery, Porterville, California. Son of Samuel F. Butts & Hannah Colton, Benjamin studied music at a young age. He started in business in Kansas City, but entered the evangelism field in 1888. He married three times: To Eva Grace Lambright (1867-1941), Mary Emma Rawlings (1869-1919), and Onna Barrett Mills (1896-1963).
