Old Time Power

Representative Text

1 Lord we tarry for the power,
Every heart in one accord;
Waiting for the heav’nly shower,
That is promised in Thy word.

Refrain:
Jesus send the old-time power,
The heart-searching power
The soul converting power,
Like they had at Pentecost,
As we tarry send the power,
The comforting power;
The edifying power,
As poured out at Pentecost.

2 We are waiting for a blessing,
Send a Pentecostal show’r;
Human weakness we’re confessing,
Manifest Thyself with Pow’r. [Refrain]

3 Send the Spirit now dear Father,
Unto every humble soul;
Fill us with Thy loving power,
Purify and make us whole. [Refrain]

4 What a wonderful baptism
With the Holy Ghost and fire;
Wrought in me a new creation.
O my soul now mounts up high’r. [Refrain]
