There is Sunlight Over Head

Representative Text

1 Tho' when walking down life's valley,
Oft the vale is fill'd with dread;
Yet when e'er I look above me,
There is sunlight over head.

Chorus:
Just above the sun is shining,
Then no more the shadows dread;
But remember when repining,
There is sunlight over head.

2 Tis the sun that makes the shadows,
So no matter where we tread;
Let us sing when days are gloomy,
There is sunlight over head. [Chorus]

3 In this world of sin and sorrow,
Trials on ev'ry hand are spread;
Yet my heart keeps singing ever,
There is sunlight over head. [Chorus]

4 When at last I walk the valley,
And the shadow of the dead;
My dear Lord will whisper to me,
There is sunlight over head. [Chorus]

At the age of nineteen he joined the M.E. Church, and a few years later he was granted a license to preach the Gospel, and still later he was regularly ordained by Bishop Merrill. However, Mr. Oatman only serves as a local preacher. For many years he was engaged with his father in the mercantile business at Lumberton… Go to person page >
