The Lord was Ready to Save Me

Author: Ada Blenkhorn Hymnal: Gold Tried in the Fire #67 (1904) First Line: When lost upon the desert wild Lyrics: 1 When lost upon the desert wild, The Lord was ready to save me; A sinful and rebellious child, The Lord was ready to save me. He knew and pitied my distress, He sought me in the wilderness, My wounds to hear, my soul to bless, The Lord was ready to save me. Chorus: The Lord was ready to save me, The Lord was ready to save me, O sing salvation’s sweetest song, The Lord was ready to save me. 2 Before I knew He died for me, The Lord was ready to save me; Before I heard of Calvary, The Lord was ready to save me. Before I knew He loved my soul, And that His blood could make me whole; Before I owned His sweet control, The Lord was ready to save me. [Chorus] 3 And when I knelt before His feet, The Lord was ready to save me; To make my joy in Him complete, The Lord was ready to save me. He wiped away the falling tear; He bade me trust and not to fear; And to my soul He made it clear, The Lord was ready to save me. [Chorus] 4 Come, sing with me my song of joy, The Lord was ready to save me; And let His praise your lips employ, The Lord was ready to save me. O may His courts with praise resound, Its echoes reach the world around; Cease not to sing, for I have found The Lord was ready to save me. [Chorus] Languages: English Tune Title: [When lost upon the desert wild]
