Died: Ju­ly 8, 1951, Ar­den, West Vir­gin­ia. Buried: Eb­e­nez­er Meth­odi­st Church, Ar­den, West Vir­gin­ia. Reed is said to have writ­ten 2,000 hymns in her life­time.
