The Land Beyond the Stars

Author: Katharine E. Purvis Appears in 1 hymnal First Line: We can see the gleam afar Refrain First Line: On the happy golden shore Lyrics: 1 We can see the gleam afar Of “the bright and morning star,” As we journey on our homeward way; ‘Soon earth’ shadows will be past, And our souls rejoice at last In the dawn of everlasting day. Refrain: On the happy golden shore, WE shall meet to part no more, And the face of Jesus see, Who once died for you and me, And we’ll sing His praise thro’ endless days. 2 When our eyes behold the light Of that land which has no night, God’s own hand shall wipe away all tears; We shall see Him face to face Who hath saved us by His grace, And repeat His praise thro’ endless years. [Refrain] 3 Our sad hearts, with longing filled For the voices death has stilled, And the faces lost to mortal sight, Shall unite love’s broken chain When we clasp our own again, In the morning of eternal light. [Refrain] Used With Tune: [We can see the gleam afar]

Sweet Voices

Author: Joseph Flintoft Berry Hymnal: The Cyber Hymnal #6428 First Line: Hear sweet voices from above Refrain First Line: Happy voices ev'rywhere Lyrics: 1. Hear sweet voices from above, Fill thy hands and go with love, To the weary as they wait, so late; In the name of Christ your King, Go and sweetly, sweetly sing, Go and wipe their tears away, and pray. Refrain Happy voices ev’rywhere Are like angels in the air. ’Twas for this that Jesus came, There is music in His name, In the work He calleth you, be true. 2. Cups of water ye may bear, And bring answer to your prayer; Jesus led the multitude with good. How the blind with opened eyes Looked on Him with glad surprise! Love may fix the eyes long dim on Him. [Refrain] 3. Only tell the story how Jesus comes to bless you now; What you do for love is best confessed. Go as Jesus went to them; You may find perchance a gem, Long to sparkle in His sight in light. [Refrain] Languages: English Tune Title: [Hear sweet voices from above]
