George B. Lissant

1823 - 1899 Person Name: G. B. Lissant Composer of "[Joy and gladness! Joy and gladness!]" in Carols Old and Carols New Born: September 22, 1827. Died: September 14, 1899. Lissant was a chorister at the coronation of Britain’s Queen Victoria. In 1849, he became the first organist at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Calcutta, India.
