Author: C. Austin Miles Appears in 3 hymnals First Line: 'Mid the throng in which I'm daily living Refrain First Line: Give me, O Lord, a loving heart Lyrics: 1 ‘Mid the throng in which I’m daily living There must be one who needs a tender word; Be it mine, the holy joy of giving That token in the name of Christ, my Lord. Refrain: Give me, O Lord, a loving heart That reaches out to touch a soul with love divine, His burden bear, His sorrow share; Give me a loving heart, dear Lord, like Thine. 2 Loving hearts that beat in happy union With those who need a message from above, Are not gained except from sweet communion With Him whose heart still overflows with love. [Refrain] Used With Tune: ['Mid the throng in which I'm daily living]
