Lyrics: 1 My heart is filled with singing, I’m happy all the time; Within the bells are ringing Their melody sublime. The music of redemption Is wafted on the breeze, My soul is filled with glory And Canaan melodies. Refrain: O glory hallelujah! My soul is sanctified; He fills me with His glory As in Him I confide. I have the "second blessing," I’m free from sin’s disease; And now I’m always singing Sweet Canaan melodies. 2 My life was full of pining And grumbling every day; But now ’tis spent in shining And singing on the way. My soul is filled with laughter, And with me it agrees, So now I’m always singing Sweet Canaan melodies. [Refrain] 3 You ask me, "What’s the secret Of such a happy frame?" I answer, "’Tis the Spirit That keeps my heart aflame. He sanctifies me wholly, From sin my soul He frees, And fills me with His glory And Canaan melodies." [Refrain] 4 O Christian, cease your struggling With carnal nature’s power, And seek the second blessing For purity this hour. Your service for the Master Will then be done with ease, And you’ll be always singing, Sweet Canaan melodies.
