A. from Oberlin College in 1942, an M.A. from the University of Wisconsin in 1950, and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in 1956. He was a poet and an English professor at Indiana University (Jeffersonville), Beloit College, Rockford College (Illinois), and St. Norbert College.
