The Air Is Filled With The Echoes

Author: Anonymous Hymnal: The Cyber Hymnal #14252 Lyrics: 1 The air is filled with the echoes, Glad voices are singing again, Saying "Glory to God in the highest, And peace and good will to men!" Listen, dear children, listen, Hear bells and exulting chimes say The sweetest song that ever was sung: Jesus is born today! 2 The world was dark and lonely, Till the sound of His voice was heard; And the hearts of the sad and the lowly Leapt up at His lightest word. Over the fields in their beauty The lilies and birds of the air, The tender love of the Father’s smile He showed us everywhere. 3 An angel may praise Him in Heaven, A child may sing upon earth, With a joy that shall ring thro’ the ages, The story of Christ and His birth. Listen, dear children, listen, Hear bells and the joyous chimes say The sweetest song that ever was sung: "Jesus is born today!" Languages: English Tune Title: [The air is filled with the echoes]

Anonymous

Person Name: Anon. Author of "The Air Is Filled with the Echoes" in Junior Carols In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries.
