Author: Ethel A. Barlow Hymnal: The Cyber Hymnal #9189 First Line: The cross that He gave is heavy Lyrics: 1 The cross that He gave is heavy, And the light on my path is dim, Yet I feel a blessèd assurance, Whenever I think of Him. Refrain: Whenever I think of Him, Whenever I think of Him, He fills my soul with divine control, Whenever I think of Him. 2 I stand on the mount of promise, Rising up from the vale of prayer; For my soul is filled with His goodness, And thoughts of His love and care.
