Make Jesus Yours Today

Representative Text

1 You will want to spend eternity with Jesus;
You will want to walk with Him the heav’nly way;
Thro’ His great redeeming grace you will want to see His face,
Then make Him yours today.

Refrain:
Make Jesus yours today and go with Him alway!
To Calvary He went for Thee,
Then make Him yours today.

2 You will want to have the precious Savior with you
In that morning when the clouds are rolled away.
You will want Him for a friend when you reach the journey’s end;
Then make Him yours today. [Refrain]

3 You will want to know your sins are all forgiven;
You will want to hear the blessed Savior say:
“Come to me! I paid the price, made for you the sacrifice!”
Then make Him yours today. [Refrain]

Author: William C. Poole

William C. Poole was born and raised on a farm in Maryland. His parents belonged to the Methodist church. He graduated from Washington College and became a Methodist minister in Wilmington, Delaware area. He was pastor of McCabe Memorial, Richardson Park and other churches. In 1913 he was superintendent of the Anti-Saloon League of Delaware. He wrote about five hundred hymns. The writing was done as recreation and a diversion from his pastoral work. His goal in writing as well as in being a minister was to help people.
