Drawn from Luke’s account of the Emmaus story, this rather folklike and systematically syncopated verse and refrain moves along at a good tempo making it an ideal processional. The essentially SAT scoring of the choral parts (basses can double the melody) lends a tight contemporary sound. Additional interest is created through a bridge section and instrumental interlude.
