Bless the Day

Representative Text

1 Bless the day, bless the day,
God hath heard His servant pray;
What I asked of Him is done,
Faith the victory hath won.
Bless the day, bless the day,
God hath heard His servant pray.
Bless the day, bless the day,
God hath heard His servant pray.

2 Praise the Lord praise the Lord,
God hath verified His word!
Broken-hearted pray'r prevails;
God's compassion never fails!
Bless the Lord, bless the Lord,
God hath verified His word.
Bless the Lord, bless the Lord,
God hath verified His word.

3 It is done, it is done!
All my doubts and fears are gone!
God hath heard and answered pray'r,
In my heart I feel it there.
It is done, it is done!
All my doubts and fears are gone.
It is done, it is done!
All my doubts and fears are gone.

4 Good and true! Good and true!
Is the Lord toward me and you.
He delights to answer prayer,
Take our burden and our care.
Good and true! Good and true!
Is the Lord to me and you.
Good and true! Good and true!
Is the Lord to me and you.

5 Bless the Lord! Bless the Lord!
I believe my prayer is heard;
I will trust forever more,
In my Saviour's promise sure!
Bless the Lord! Bless the Lord!
He his servant's prayer hath heard.
Bless the Lord! Bless the Lord!
He his servant's prayer hath heard.

6 Glory be, glory be,
To the Lord who answered me!
When in my distress I made
Supplication strong, and prayed,
Glory be, Glory be,
To the Lord He answered me.
Glory be, Glory be,
To the Lord He answered me.

7 Bless the Lord, Bless the Lord,
God is faithful to His word;
On His faithfulness I rest,
On a Saviour's merit blest,
Bless the Lord, Bless the Lord!
God doth comfort now afford.
Bless the Lord, Bless the Lord!
God doth comfort now afford.
