Alex Burns was born in the bonnie land of Scotland in the year 1898. His was a humble but Godly home in which music played an important part. His father, a member of the Salvation Army, could play several instruments and often father, mother, and their four children would gather round to sing and play the grand old hymns. [. . .] In 1923 Alex came to America and it was at Philadelphia that he wrote his first chorus "Christ for Me." [. . . ].
