Izzard, John Colquhoun Born: Glasgow, 19 March 1924 Died: 2006 Biography He became a Salvation Army officer in 1947 from Parkhead, Glasgow. After serving in corps appointments, and then at International Headquarters, and as national youth crusader, he was appointed to Cardiff as divisional young people's secretary in 1963. Subsequently he was national organiser for torchbearer groups and youth centres, 1966-69; assistant national youth secretary, 1969-72; and territorial youth secretary for Scotland, 1972-74. ln 1974 he returned to corps work in the Birmingham Division, and since 1982 he has been commanding officer at Birmingham Harborne Corps.
