Despierta, alma mía, y cual astro luciente

Representative Text

1 Despierta, alma mía, y cual astro luciente,
La esfera recorre del diario deber;
Despierta y ofrece tu diaria alabanza
Al Dios bondadoso a quien debes el ser,
Al Dios bondadoso a quien debes el ser.

2 Despierta, y uniendo tu voz con el coro
Que inunda la esfera con canto triunfal;
Repite gozosa los himnos que entona
Cantando la gloria del Dios eternal,
Cantando la gloria del dios eternal.

3 ¡Oh, gracias, Dios mío, por este descanso
Del sueño tranquilo que fuerzas me da!
También del sepulcro saldré victorioso,
Gozando la vida que eterna será.
Gozando la vida que eterna será.

4 Señor, yo mis votos renuevo y deseo
Mis culpas, cual nubes, poder disipar;
Mi ser purifica, mi mente resguarda
Y logre tu gracia mi fe renovar,
Y logre tu gracia mi fe renovar.

5 Consagra, dirige, señala este día
Mis obras, palabras, pensar y sentir;
Pues quiero, Dios mío, con todas mis fuerzas,
En cuerpo y en alma, poderte servir,
En cuerpo y en alma, poderte servir.
