Dicsérd Jézust, Ha Övé Vagy

Representative Text

1 Dicsérd Jézust, ha övé vagy,
Tartozásod oly nagyon nagy!
Teljes szívvel néki adjad
Javaid, erőd!

2 Jézus, a Te neved éltet,
Te adsz lelki pajzsot, vértet,
Te győzöd le ellenünket,
Ha benned bízunk.

3 Bízzál benne mindörökre,
Építs bátran hűségére!
Semmi el nem szakít tőle,
Ha szeretjük Őt.

4 Tarts meg minket szilárd hitben,
Ragaszkodjunk hozzád hűen,
Míg meglátjuk majd a mennyben
Dicsőségedet.

5 Ott leszünk majd, Hova vágyunk,
S eltűnik a gyarlóságunk.
Mit itt lenn meg nem találunk,
Nemsoká miénk!

Kelly, Thomas, B.A., son of Thomas Kelly, a Judge of the Irish Court of Common Pleas, was born in Dublin, July 13, 1769, and educated at Trinity College, Dublin. His earnest evangelical preaching in Dublin led Archbishop Fowler to inhibit him and his companion preacher, Rowland Hill, from preaching in the city. For some time he preached in two unconsecrated buildings in Dublin, Plunket Street, and the Bethesda, and then, having seceded from the Established Church, he erected places of worship at Athy, Portarlington, Wexford, &c, in which he conducted divine worship and preached.
