Representative Text

1 From the deeps, to Thee, O Lord,
We have cried, and Thou hast heard;
Calmed our fears, dried our tears,
Made our staff of hope Thy Word.

2 While oppressed with pain we lay,
Thou didst deign to hear us pray;
From the grave Thou didst save;
Thou didst chase the pain away.

3 Trust then, Israel, in the Lord,
Make thy staff of hope His Word,
Prayer in grief, brings relief;
Pray, until thy prayer be heard,
Pray, until thy prayer be heard.
