Representative Text

1. Hear me, dear Jesus, Prince of peace,
While I my numerous faults confess,
And with increasing fervour pray,
That they may all be washed away.

2. Do thou thy precious blood apply,
Nor let a trembling sinner die;
Oh cleanse my soul from every stain,
Let not a single spot remain.

3. Thus pardoned and thus purified,
I'll spread thy praises far and wide,
And loudly sing redeeming love,
Both here and in the world above.
