Representative Text

1 Herr Jesu, deine Angst und Pein
und dein betrübtes Leiden
laß mir vor Augen allzeit sein,
die Sünde zu vermeiden.
Laß mich an deine große Not
und deinen herben, bittern Tod,
solang ich lebe, denken.

2 Die Wunden alle, die du hast,
hab ich dir helfen schlagen,
auch meine große Sündenlast
dir aufgelegt zu tragen.
Ach liebster Heiland, schone mein,
laß diese Schuld vergessen sein,
laß Gnade vor Recht ergehen.

4 Drum will ich jetzt in Dankbarkeit
von Herzen dir lobsingen,
und wenn du zu der Seligkeit
mich wirst hinkünstig bringen,
so will ich daselbst noch viel mehr
zusamt dem ganzen Himmelsheer
dich ewig dafür loben.

5 Herr Jesu, deine Angst und Pein
und dein betrübtes Leiden
laß meine letzte Zuflucht sein,
wenn ich von hier soll scheiden.
Ach hilf, daß ich durch deinen Tod
fein sanft beschließe meine Not
und selig sterbe. Amen.
