Representative Text

1 I am happy in the Lord, hallelujah!
Of his goodness I am telling all the day;
I am trusting in his word, hallelujah!
And my joy the world can never take away.

Refrain:
I am happy in the Lord, sweetly resting on his word,
Looking upward to his temple in the sky;
Where his servants day and night swell their anthems of delight,
And my dwelling will be ready by and by.

2 He is leading me along, hallelujah!
I am walking in his shadow all the while;
Oh, he fills my heart with song, hallelujah!
And my faith can see his tender, loving smile. [Refrain]

3 I will praise him o’er and o’er, hallelujah!
I will praise him for the mercy shown to me
Till I reach the other shore, hallelujah!
And my bark shall drop its anchor o’er the sea. [Refrain]

4 Then with all the saints above, hallelujah!
When I stand arrayed in righteousness complete;
I will shout redeeming love, hallelujah!
While I cast my crown of glory at his feet. [Refrain]
